Health Care Access

“Healthcare is a fundamental human right. Regardless of their circumstance, everyone in New Mexico and the U.S. should have access to comprehensive, affordable, high-quality health care in conjunction with comprehensive behavioral health services, and reproductive care, including access to birth control, quality prenatal, postpartum care, and abortion care.”

In Valencia County we are especially aware of the need for access to health care as we have been fighting for and waiting for a hospital for so many years. We have recently seen progress from all of our efforts as Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham signed HB 2 on December 21, 2021 right here in Valencia County.

“My administration is committed to making sure that every New Mexican has access to top-notch medical care, and this facility will make a positive impact on health outcomes for residents,” said Gov. Lujan Grisham. “This, and every appropriation contained in House Bill 2, will make a real difference in the lives of New Mexicans in communities large and small, today and for generations to come.”
